David F. Ucasz

Mr. David F. Ucasz, age 84, of Little Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 9th, 2026, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY.

David was born on November 30, 1941, to the late Leon and Genevieve Ucasz (Kapala). David had various job experiences throughout his life, he worked for his family farm, Univac, ICL, Savin Technologies, Horender Construction, Kelsey Hayes and as an electrician at Remington Arms. These job experiences also gave him the opportunity to travel; he traveled to many places in the United States and England to further his training and education for his employers.  David enjoyed WWI Planes, flying, canoeing, riding motorcycles and flying kites.

On August 26, 1961, David married his beloved Jeanne L. Harlow, together they shared sixty-four years of cherished memories, love and laughter. David and Jeanne built their house together, as well as their cherished family. David’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy.

He is survived by his family, his wife Jeanne L. Ucasz, his daughters, Bonnie Hopson and Gayle Wilks and his grandchildren; Jason Hopson (Heather Fogarty), Kayla Hopson (Jason Tuttle), Rashauna Hopson (David Halpern), Noah Hopson (Nicole), Nicholas Hopson (Nicole), Alyssa Wilks (Elijah Shibley), Connor Wilks and Keira Wilks. He also leaves his great-grandchildren, Lilliana, Evelynn, Elias, Parker, Lucas, Natalie and Spencer. His brother, John Ucasz (Eleanor), niece Barbara (Joe), nephew Mark Ucasz and his great-nephews Nick, Dan and Ben, as well as his best friend since 1967, Ronald Schneider (Linda).

David was preceded in death by his son, David Edward Ucasz who passed in 2011, survived by his widow Melissa. 

In keeping with Davids wishes, there will be no formal services. His family will honor his memory privately.
