David R. Munchbach

LITTLE FALLS – David R. Munchbach, 73, of Little Falls, New York, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, June 29, 2024, in the privacy of his home.

He was born in Corinth, NY, on November 9, 1950, a son of Richard F. and Mildred E. Van Guilder Munchbach and moved to Little Falls, NY, in 1977, after serving in the U.S. Navy. He went to high school in Galway, New York, class salutatorian, then to Oneonta State to attend college. In 1981, David married his wife Shirley and they were together for over 43 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on a nuclear submarine. In his military career, Dave attended basic electronic and electricity school and U.S. Naval Nuclear Power school. Once settled in Little Falls, he worked at Beechnut and spent much of his time at the American Legion, a Stewart and a Past Commander.

Dave enjoyed golfing and years ago playing softball. In 2001, Shirley and Dave were recognized for outstanding service and assistance contributed to the advancement of the American Legion Auxiliary programs and activities dedicated to God and Country.

Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley; his mother, Mildred; his siblings, Carl, (Chester), Paul, Roger, Lois, Doris and Ruth; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Richard Munchbach.

Cremation was performed under the direction of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, in Little Falls, New York. There are no services currently. Arrangements have been entrusted to Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors (315) 823-2424.
