LITTLE FALLS - Mr. David R. Marosek, age 89, a lifelong Little Falls resident, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, in Baldwinsville, NY.
Born on October 8, 1935, David was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Marosek (Homovec). He was raised in Little Falls and received his education at St. Mary’s Academy. Dave served his country in the armed services for two years. Following his military service, he began employment at the local P&C store. His career started as a butcher and his leadership skills moved him quickly to a managerial position. Dave retired from this position following 37 years of service.
Most importantly, to him, was his family. On June 21, 1958, David married his “love at first sight”, Barbara Ross. They together raised two daughters: Diane and Karen. The family grew to what became referred to as the Party of 11 with Poppie as our Captain. This party has since expanded to a new group of 27. Of note, his great grandchildren have now become a new Party of 11. This is what Dave saw as his legacy.
His pastimes included “coffee with his dear friend”, Sunday phone calls to loved ones, gardening, being outside on his front or back porch, and grilling a good steak. Dave loved hunting, tinkering in his garage, vacationing with family and watching the birds. His closest friends and family looked to him for tips on cuts of meat and green thumb advice.
Right up to the last days of his life, Dave was described by many as being humble, kind, and having a witty sense of humor. He lived his life as he wanted to be remembered.
Survived to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Barbara; his immediate family that includes his daughters and son-in-laws; Diane and Russell Kwaczala, Karen and Michael Atutis; his grandchildren and spouses; Kyle (Andrea) Kwaczala, Andrew (Katie) Atutis, Kirk (Lauren) Kwaczala, Morganne (Eric) Atutis Hesler, and Kramer (Gregory) Kwaczala; his eleven great-grandchildren; Oscar, Chase, Sloane, Reid, Olivia, Deacon, Bryce, Blake, Blair, Owen and Baby H; and his sister Sharon Marosek.
May Dave’s memory be a blessing to all who knew him. There will be no funeral arrangements made at this time. A graveside service at St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer, will be held in the future.
