ILION – David R. Bardo, age 79, of Catherine St., Ilion, NY, passed away, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at home, with his wife, Shirley, the Love of his life, by his side.
He was born on July 13, 1945, in Boonville, the son of Spencer and Beulah (Graham) Bardo and attended Marcy schools. David was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. On April 1, 1972, he was married to Shirley McConnell, at the Ilion Methodist Church. David worked as a car mechanic and reconditioner, at Paolozzi Mazda, in Marcy, for many years.
Surviving family members include his wife, Shirley C. Bardo; his sons, Eric W. Bardo and David R. Bardo, II and his wife, Annlee, of Ilion; his grandchildren, Corporal David R. Bardo, III and his wife, Maria, Eric J. Bardo and Paige Bardo; his great-granddaughter, Kora; his brother, George Bardo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Bill and Jack Bardo.
A Celebration of David’s Life will be held privately, at the convenience of the family.
