EAST HERKIMER – Danny Clarence Guyer, age 53, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, in the privacy and comfort of his home.
Born in Cooperstown on February 14, 1971, Danny is the son of Phyllis (Edwards) Markwardt and the late Clarence Guyer. He also knew the love and guidance of his stepfather, Fred Markwardt.
Danny is survived by his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shelly and Mike Perri and Phyllis and Carl Trask; his four children, Jordan (Katie), Logan, Tayler (Toby) and Alyssa Smith; his three grandchildren, Bailee R. Guyer, Luca D. Guyer and Wrenleigh G. Hayes; his nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Dave) and Harlee Lindfield, Zachary “Leroy” (Katie) Perri and Dakota (Aliyah) Bevers.
Danny had a few good friends, Gary Moyer, Dave George and Danny Hectus. He enjoyed catching up with his buddies at the Herkimer Stewarts.
Danny’s best friend was Connie Eddy, who became more like family over the years. Back in 2002, Connie selflessly donated one of her kidneys to Danny, which allowed him the gift of several years free from the burden of dialysis. Connie became his caregiver for the past few months of his life. Connie was a true friend and someone he could always count on.
Danny enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on anything with an engine, whether it be building or accessorizing. He also had an artistic side and even dabbled in tattoo work, air brushing and had a knack for the rattle can.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses at U.S. Renal Care in Herkimer; especially Krista “Little Debbie” and Morgan “Piglet.”
Per Danny’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000, Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate, Funeral Directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at
