Dane Perry

Dane M. Perry, 58, of 2 Cottage St., Ilion (HARC), a lifelong resident of the Mohawk Valley, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. Dane was born Dec. 23, 1946, in Ilion, son of the late Woodrow W. and Clara (Getman) Perry. He was a beloved son, brother and friend. A simple man with special needs, Dane has resided with Herkimer ARC for many years. Dane is survived by his loving family; one brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Laura Perry of Herkimer; and one sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and R. Fredrick "Fred" Rowland of Ilion. He also leaves his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, several cousins and friends. There are no public calling hours. A graveside funeral service will be held this spring on the Perry lot in Armory Hill Cemetery at a date and time to be announced. Dane's family would like to thank the entire staff of HARC, especially Cindy Groulx, Ed Smith and Lorri Ingersoll for the care, compassion and comfort extended to him during his residency with them. Those wishing to do so may consider memorial contributions in Dane's name to the Herkimer ARC or the Herkimer County Humane Society.
