Mrs. Dale H. Richard, age 79, of Little Falls, passed away in the comfort of her home on August 6, 2026.

Dale was born in Providence, Rhode Island on April 22, 1947, to the late Godfrey and Olive (Knowles) Hearn. She was a graduate of Litchfield High School in Litchfield, CT. After high school, she attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston, MA.

On May 1, 1971, Dale married the love of her life, James A. Richard in Torrington, CT. Dale and Jim spent many years living in Virginia Beach, they returned to Little Falls in 2021, just six months before Jim’s passing. Dale worked at the Mohawk Valley Christian Academy as the secretary for 25 years. This was a job she truly saw as a vocation, believing strongly that children should have a faith-based education. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Little Falls. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the most important thing in her life, and she highly valued the people and learning opportunities, such as Bible Study, that she found at the First Baptist Church. Dale valued the relationships and friends she made through the church very highly. One of her favorite activities was tending to her flowers and other plants at her house, this always kept her busy in the summer months. She was also a lifelong reader, particularly of history and her Bible.

Dale was a dedicated and loving mother; she believed her job as a mother was the most important role in her life. She was always involved in her three sons’ lives and adored her two grandchildren, Valerie and London, always wanting to know how they were doing and what was new in their lives. She hosted many holiday dinners, Thanksgiving being her favorite dinner to host in her home.

She is survived by her beloved sons; Robert Richard of Little Falls, Thomas Richard and wife Marlo (Marzano) of Virginia Beach and David Richard and wife Danielle (Regan) of Oceanside, CA; her granddaughters, Valerie and London Richard; her sister, Amy Nellissen (Hearn), sister-in-law's, Cathy Hearn and Sandra Richard. As well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
