Cynthia J. Cotton, age 67, a lifelong Mohawk Valley resident, passed away suddenly, early Saturday morning, November 18, 2023, at the Little Falls Hospital.
Born in Ilion on March 30, 1956, Cynthia was the daughter of the late Robert and Florence (Strong) Cotton. She was raised and educated locally and attended Mohawk schools, having graduated from Mohawk High School in 1974.
Cynthia was a person who enjoyed the simple thing in life and in her free time she could often be found knitting or painting. She loved Kitty, the cat, and was a communicant of the Scotch Bush Free Methodist Church in St. Johnsville.
Cynthia is survived by her brothers, James and Nancy Cotton and Carl Cotton; her sister-in-law, Kay Cotton; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, her faithful cat, “Kitty” and “the gang” at London Towers.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Allen Cotton and Kenneth Cotton; and her sister-in-law, Janet Cotton.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation for Cynthia on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family’s larger facility located at 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 895-7722.
Cynthia’s funeral service will commence at 11:00AM at the funeral home, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation, with Pastor Martin Burrello officiating. Her earthly remains will be laid to rest with her parents in the Reformed Church Cemetery in the Town of Columbia.
