ILION - Craig J. Van Pelt, age 51, of West North Street, Ilion, NY passed away at his residence on Wednesday March 12, 2014.
He was born on January 27, 1963 in Sacramento, California; son of the late Peter J. Van Pelt and Louise E. (Smith) Van Pelt. Craig attended Herkimer BOCES as well attending Ilion schools and went on to graduate from Coral Springs High School, Coral Springs Florida. From 1981 until 1983 her served with the United States Air Force and moved to Ilion upon honorable discharge. He worked with air conditioning supplies in the Utica area and was a well - known air conditioning warehouse manager. Craig worked with computers at a company in Albany and was also a certified nursing assistant.
His mother, Louise E. (Smith) Van Pelt and his step - father Richard P. Rifenburgh of Bradenton, Florida survive him as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. All funeral arrangements with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, (Town of Frankfort), Ilion, NY. The family has selected Funeral Directors Harry and Kevin Enea to assist them at this time.
