ILION - Cornelius "Neil" Edward Seymour, age 63, of Asheboro, NC, formerly of Ilion, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 5, 2014, at his home in Asheboro, NC.



He was born on September 18, 1951, in Ilion, the son of John "Jack" Edward Seymour and Julia (Crough) Seymour. Neil graduated from Notre Dame High, Utica, New York and Syracuse University. He was married to the former Mary Jean Piazza for 38 years.



Surviving family members include his wife, Mary Jean; his children, James "Jimmy" Edward Seymour and his wife, Valerie, of Angier, NC, Jessica Anne Seymour, of Bear, DE, Ryan John Seymour, of Raleigh, NC, and Andrew "Drew" Joseph Seymour and his wife, Liza, of Raleigh, NC; his brother, Joseph Seymour and his wife, Susan, of Glenmont, NY; his niece, Abigail Greenfield, of Portland, ME; and nephew, Christopher Seymour, of Salem, MA; and several cousins.



He was predeceased by his parents, John "Jack" and Julia Seymour.



Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2014, at the Church of the Annunciation, West St., Ilion, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Terence Healy, assisted by Deacon James Bower.



Calling hours are Thursday, December 11, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home's newly reopened home at 102 West St., Ilion.
