ILION/FRANKFORT-Mrs. Cora M. (Conte) Simonette, 90, of E. North Street, Ilion, passed away on Tuesday morning, May 29, 2007 in St. Elizabeth?s Medical Center, Utica. She was born on August 20, 1916 in Utica, daughter of the late Michael and Modesta (Pandolf) Conte, and was educated in Frankfort schools and spent most of her life in Frankfort. On October 26, 1935, she was united in marriage with Joseph C. Simonette in St. Mary?s Church, Frankfort; a devoted and loving union of 44 years until Mr. Simonette?s passing on December 23, 1979. Cora was last employed with Gold Medal Packaging Company of Utica and was at one time employed by General Electric and Remington Arms. A devoted Catholic, she was a parishioner of Annunciation Church, Ilion. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and most of all, spending precious time with family and friends. A loving and caring mother, grandmother, aunt and sister, she will be deeply missed by her loved ones. Survivors include her beloved son: Joseph Simonette of Ilion; two brothers: Michael Conte and wife Joan of Ilion and Frank Conte and wife Rayda of Texas; a sister: Margaret Consiglio and husband Daniel of Rome; a grandchild: Michael Simonette; inlaws: Doris Conte of Frankfort and Sam and Florence Simonette; several nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers: Louis, Sam, Joe and Dominick and by three sisters: Fannie Scamardo, Mary Skelly and Rose Fenton. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., between Frankfort and Ilion, on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 from 4-7 p.m. Cora?s funeral will commence at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 31st, from the Church of the Annunciation, West St., Ilion, where the Rev. Anthony Barratt, pastor, will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial. Procession will follow to Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort, where she will be laid to rest.
