IN LOVING MEMORY
MOHAWK – Clarinda A. Luppino, affectionately remembered as “Corky,” passed away at the age of 68, on Monday morning, April 13th, 2026, at Bassett Healthcare, in Cooperstown, where her devoted family was always at her side with the utmost amount of love.
Clarinda was born in Herkimer, New York, on March 22nd, 1958, the daughter of the late Felice “Phil” and Rose (Barbuto) Luppino. Raised and educated locally, she attended Mohawk schools. She worked at Kmart where she had many friends and worked at Valley Health Services in Herkimer as a residential aide. She recently retired from there.
Clarinda was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Little Falls. She loved Pastor Chris Wintermute and Becca, and we thank them for everything. She committed her time to the Awana Program, held at Mohawk Valley Christian Academy. Her love of children was expressed with loving care while helping her sister Auroria with her childcare as well.
Clarinda was a gentlewoman who was loved by all. She was affectionate, kind, gracious, confident, bright and a good friend. She was very involved in the lives of her nieces and nephew. Her life was the center for family and friends, and she just loved going out to dinner with them and going shopping.
She is survived by her beloved family: her sister, Auroria Tibbitts and her husband, Donald; her ‘special’ sister, Carol Downes and her husband Robert and family, her nephew, Michael Tibbitts (Bobbie Ann) and niece Kristine Bourne; and their children, Nora Mills, Adeline Mills, Willow Bourne and Hartley Bourne. Also, her special nephew Michael Mills and her family member James Tibbitts.
Survivors also include so many special friends, co-workers, namely, Janice, whom she was always with, Erika, Chassie, Jody, Barb, Patty, and Mike. And church family, Janae, Alice and Frank Wrisley, Dana & Kathy Stefanec, Nancy Lee, Tom Tice, and Barry Gage.
She was predeceased by her parents, Phil & Rose Luppino, her godparents, Angie & Sal Fiorentino, and many beloved family members.
A very special graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery Herkimer later this spring at a time to be announced. There are no calling hours nor formal funeral services.
