Christyjo Wildey Grescheck

ILION – Christyjo Wildey Grescheck, 47, of Herkimer, passed away unexpectedly, on July 2, 2024. Our tribute to mom will begin with our deepest sorrow and memories of her as a loving mother, Nonnie and a one-of-a-kind friend.

She was born on March 17,1977, in Cooperstown, the daughter of the late Gerald Edward and Jean Carol (Armstrong) Wildey. On December 19,1997, she was united in marriage with Jamie S. Grescheck (Punk), in Richfield Springs. This was a union that was filled with friendship and love. On May 25, 2001, she began her life with her life-partner, Gary J. Perkett (Boo), whom she loved dearly.

Christy attended Ilion Junior / Senior High School and ultimately went on to receive a General Equivalency Diploma. She spent her life being a stay-at-home mom to her three girls and plenty of nieces and nephews. The biggest blessing in her life was being a mother and Nonnie to her grandbabies. She always took the opportunity to give donations to the Muscular Dystrophy fund in honor of her brother and best friend, Stevie (Bubby). She absolutely loved Elvis Presley, old shows, such as Matlock and In the Heat of the Night. She loved the color, green and would never say no to freshly picked lilacs. You could always find her with a cup of tea and crossword in hand.

She leaves behind her loving family: her husband, Jamie, of Worcester; her partner, Gary, of Herkimer; her three daughters, Shelby Puchales and her husband, Jesse, of Canastota, Abigail Grescheck and her fiancé, Joshua, of Utica and Morgan Grescheck and fiancé, Radee, of Herkimer; her ten grandchildren, Jase, Teagan, Cecelia, Rory, Mykah, Kaelyn, Josh, Addison, Leilani and Lane. She also leaves her beloved Godfather, Bill Fontaine; her best friend and bonus daughter, Erika LeClair; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Wildey; her father, Gerald Wildey; her two sons, Mark and Craig; her one daughter, Jocelyn; her two brothers, Steven “Bubby” Wildey and Frederick Wildey; her sister, Colleen Wildey – Welch; her beloved Godmother, Debbie Fontaine; and her favorite funny uncle, Darrell Strickland.

The family invites relatives and friends to a Celebration of Life, at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, in Ilion, New York, on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. This is a one hour calling hour only. We thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support.
