IN LOVING MEMORY
HERKIMER - Christopher John Parody, age 49, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 29th, 2026.
Chris was born in Syracuse, New York, on May 29th, 1976, to loving parents William (Bill) H. Parody, III, and Rosemary Spohn Parody. Chris had been raised in Herkimer, lived in the Albany area for about 30-years, and recently relocated back to Herkimer. He graduated from Herkimer High School, went on to Herkimer Community College where he received an Associates of Science in Fine Arts, and continued his education at The College of Saint Rose where he obtained his Bachelor of Science of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.
Chris was a talented artist and graphic designer that worked for The College of Saint Rose as an Assistant Director of Marketing, SEFCU as a Graphic Designer, and most recently at Broadview Federal Credit Union as a Marketing Creative Developer. Most notably, he designed the Golden Knights logo that The College of Saint Rose used for their sports marketing. His work was published in many national publications, including HOW and Graphic Design USA magazines. His work with SEFCU and Broadview could be seen on billboards and in bank branches across the state.
Over the past year, Chris went back to his fine arts roots, sketching and painting still life artwork. He posted videos of the creative process on Facebook, and his "Tootsie Roll" still life painting was featured last summer at Utica's Munson Art Festival.
Chris loved sports, especially the Syracuse Orangemen and his beloved New York Mets. He competed and judged over the years in many powerlifting events across New York State, with a personal record of benching 395 pounds.
Chris was a social butterfly - he loved being out with friends, shooting darts, grabbing wings and a beer, and made new friends wherever he went.
Most of all, Chris was a supportive and loving son, brother and uncle, and a good friend to many. Chris will be remembered as someone who was a genuine, kind, and all-around good guy by all who were lucky to have known him.
Christopher is survived by his loving parents, Bill and Rosemary Parody, his sister, Vikki Parody Kaufman, brother-in-law, Craig Kaufman, nephew, Michael Kaufman, niece, Victoria Kaufman, and his very special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
