Christine (Joy) Vanhatten

ILION - Christine (Joy) VanHatten, 76, of Ilion, passed away unexpectedly, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at The Grand, in Ilion.
She was born on February 8, 1949, in Ilion, NY, the daughter of the late Lewis and Lucy (Urtz) Joy. She was a 1967 graduate of Ilion High School. On February 6, 1970, at the Annunciation Church in Ilion, she was united in marriage to Bernard Dale VanHatten.
Chris was an avid reader with an enormous collection of books. She loved to shop, and in her younger days loved going on shopping trips with her daughter to the malls.
She was a talented seamstress and knitter making numerous clothing items through the years, many of which were passed down through the family.
She is survived by her daughter, Holly VanHatten (Anthony Corelli), of Tampa, FL; her brothers, Robert Joy (Kathy), of Clinton NY; and Edward Joy (Toni) of Ilion NY.
She was predeceased by her son, Ryan VanHatten; her husband, Dale VanHatten; and her parents, Lew & Lucy Joy.
There will be no calling hours or Funeral Services. She will be laid to rest in a private burial at Armory Hill Cemetery, in Ilion, NY.
