Cherilyn A. Levick

February 18, 1947 — May 1, 2025

LITTLE FALLS - Cherilyn A. LeVick, 78, a life-long Little Falls resident, passed away on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, at The Abraham House in Rome, New York.

Cherilyn was born in Little Falls on February 18th, 1947, daughter of the late John Carrig and Agnes (Ehlinger) Ashley, and attended Little Falls schools.

On September 10, 1966, Cherilyn was united in marriage with Allen "Duke" LeVick in Little Falls. Cherilyn spent much of her employment in the Little Falls School District in the counseling offices until her retirement.

Cherilyn's love for her family was simply immeasurable. She was the warmest of hearts, a beacon of love, laughter, and wisdom. Cherilyn's gift was her way of making everyone who walked through her door feel valued, whether through a home-cooked meal, an emphatic "Yesss!" or a seat at her table to pass notes or share a cup of coffee or tea. Cherilyn dedicated her entire existence to making sure that each of her brothers and sisters, children, grandchildren, and friends felt the depth of her eternal devotion through each and every interaction. She was the hub around which the entire family revolved. Cherilyn made a point to make sure her home was always open, and her door was always ready to welcome anyone who needed a place to stay or just a cozy environment with a guaranteed smile. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, creating a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Cherilyn lived a life filled with love and laughter, and her legacy is reflected in the countless lives she touched. Her wisdom, patience, and boundless kindness will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her love for life, her dedication to family, and her selfless nature will never be forgotten.

Most cherished, Cherilyn's grandchildren were the loves of her life, creating countless memories that included Christmas movies with big brown grocery bags filled with popcorn, cotton candy parties and games on Thanksgiving, birthday parties at Sylvan beach, and summer trips to Piseco Lake and Knoebel’s Amusement Park. She made it clear to all that her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and making sure that each and every one of them experienced what it was like to have Cherilyn turn ordinary days into extraordinary moments.

Cherilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Allen "Duke" LeVick and her daughter, Cara A. LeVick, her parents and by her brother, Paul Carrig, and her stepfather, Dr. Robert Ashley.

She is survived by her son, Michael A. LeVick and wife Melissa of Cortland, her daughter Amy M. Locke and husband William of Holland Patent and she was the loving grandmother to Kenna, Sawyer, Kaleigh, Autumn, Liam and Ben. Additionally, her siblings survive, Kevin, Barbara, Bart, Marie, Keith, Nancy, and Steven, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
