Charles Petryk

SYRACUSE-C. Michael "Mick" Petryk, 59, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2009 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. Mick was born on August 23, 1950 in Ilion, a son of the late Charles and Mary Jeanne (Boehlert) Petryk. He was educated in Ilion schools, and graduated with the class of 1968. He attended Mohawk Valley Community College, and then went on to receive a Bachelors Degree from Empire State College. He was employed as a sales representative for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in Syracuse, Buffalo, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Mick was of the Catholic faith. He was a member of the Pompey Lions Club. He also was involved with ARISE, the United Way, and other charitable organizations. Mick is survived by his daughters: Amanda Tirado and her husband Adam of Central Valley, and Katherine M. Petryk and her fiance´ Steven M. Grzelka of Syracuse; one grandchild: Sarai Tirado; brothers: Steven Petryk and his wife Muriel of Watkins Glen; sisters: Mary Kathryn Murray and her husband Edward of Ilion, and Barbara Hribar and her husband Dean of Schuyler Lake; his Aunt Olga Mullins of Great Neck, NY; and many, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Timothy. Memorial calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 from 6-9 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. His memorial mass, celebrated by the Very Reverend Anthony Barratt, will commence at 10 am on Thursday, Dec. 17th from Annunciation Church, Ilion.
