Charles J. Irla

d. July 13, 2013

Frankfort: Mr. Charles J. Irla, 77, of Zolad Road, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 following a courageous battle against all odds.

Charles was born on December 11, 1935 in Utica, son of the late Stanley and Mary (Gilda) Irla. He was educated in Utica Schools, and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. Charles was a lifelong area resident. In 1956, he and Betty June Levenson were married in Bridgewater. They shared a loving and devoted union of almost 57 years, until her passing on February 11, 2013.

He was employed at Special Metals, New Hartford.

He is survived by a daughter, Jeanette Szczesny and her husband Paul; a son Charles E. Irla and his significant other, Deb Coyne; along with six grandchildren, Mary Ann and Lauren Szczesny, Charles, Cynthia, David, and Kristen Irla; three great grandchildren. Charles was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Robin Irla.

His son was his lifetime hunting and fishing partner. Charles was also fortunate enough to run in the Boilermaker at one time. He extended a deep love for his children and grandchildren. This gave him strength and his presence will be missed immensely by his family. These memories will live on and be cherished by his family forever.

In keeping with his wishes, there are no public calling hours or services. The family is extremely thankful to their brother Charles and Debbie for all they have done for their Dad.

The family is being cared for by Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Director, Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion (town of Frankfort). To add to his online memorials, please visit our website at www.eneafamily.com .
