FRANKFORT – Mr. Charles F. Blakeman, Sr., age 74, of Frankfort, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Wynn Hospital in Utica.
Born in Glens Falls on May 9, 1950, Charles was the son of the late George and Mary E. “Sally” (Twiss) Blakeman. He was raised and educated in Hudson Falls, NY and lived most of his life there, until relocating to the Frankfort area.
Charlie’s working years were spent in the construction industry and he was employed by Monahan & Loughlin in Hudson Falls as a contractor and roofing specialist. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool, tinkering around in his garage and woodworking.
Charlie leaves behind his son, George Blakeman and wife, Sarah (Brunig) Blakeman of Albany, NY; his daughter, Brandy Langston and husband, John Langston, IV of Clearwater, FL; and his son, Charles Frederick Blakeman, Jr. of Hudson, NY; his grandchildren, John Langston, V, and Charlie Blakeman; his beloved companion of over twenty years, Betty Moynihan of Frankfort, and her daughter-in-law, Sheila LaFountain; and his siblings, Donald Blakeman, Catherine Traver, Laurie Wadleigh, Christine Blakeman, Leonard Blakeman and Brett Blakeman.
He was predeceased by his parents George and Sally; his wife, Brenda (Scally) Blakeman; his daughter, Amanda; his sister, Gina; and his brother, James.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a calling hour for Charlie to be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 2:00PM – 3:00PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000. A prayer service will commence at 3:00PM at the funeral home, immediately upon the conclusion of calling hours.
