Catherine "Kate" M. Amendolare

ILION – Catherine “Kate” M. Amendolare, age 86, of Maple Place, Ilion, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 22, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on August 10, 1929 in Ilion, the daughter of Thomas and Katherine (Crosby) Lubey. “Kate” graduated from Annunciation School and Ilion High School. On April 30, 1949, she was married to George D. Amendolare at the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion. He died on September 25, 2010. Mrs. Amendolare was employed at Grant’s of Ilion, and was in charge of the Domestic Dept. of Fay’s of Ilion. “Kate” was a member of the Church of the Annunciation and the Frankfort Young at Heart Senior Citizens.
Surviving family members include her three sons, George T. Amendolare and his fiancee, Catherine Evans, of Yorkville, Raymond J. Amendolare and his wife, Catherine, of Mohawk, and Gary A. Amendolare, who lived with her at home in Ilion; nine grandchildren, Chris, George Michael, Tamra, Jennifer, Raymond James, Gary J.L., Ashley, James and Diane; her great-granddaughter, Faith; three step-grandchildren, David, Jennifer and Christopher; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Mary Hurteau; and her brothers, Thomas Lubey and US Army Private, Raymond Lubey.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m., on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s newly reopened and renovated home at 102 West St., Ilion, and 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Paul Catena, Pastor. Interment will be in Armory Hill Cemetery next to her husband George D.
Calling hours are Friday, November 27, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home at 102 West St., Ilion.

The Amendolare family has entrusted “Kate’s” service arrangements and supervision to their family Funeral Director and friend, Don Applegate.
