NELLISTON – Mrs. Carol E. (Eacker) Dillenbeck, born in 1938, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning October 23, 2016 at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. The family home has been on East Main Street in Nelliston for many years.

Carol was born on February 10, 1938 in Stone Arabia to parents Dalbert Eacker and Ella Emma (Beebe) Shear. She was a graduate of Fort Plain High School. Her marriage to Kenneth G. Dillenbeck took place March 28, 1959 at the Fort Plain Reformed Church. Ken passed away August 14, 2015. At one time, she worked at Beech-Nut Life Saver in Canajoharie. Carol was well known throughout our area as a dance teacher, a talent she began at the age of 15. She attended a dancing school in New York City, and her family fondly reflects on how much Carol loved to go to New York with her friend Karen Crouse.

She is survived by her three sons, Brian Dillenbeck of St. Johnsville, Barry Dillenbeck of Fort Plain, and Dorr Dillenbeck of Nelliston; a grandson, David Dillenbeck; a brother, Clifford Eacker of Florida, Richard Eacker of Palatine Bridge, and Adelbert “Juny” Eacker of Nelliston; a sister, Roseann Edwards of South Glens Falls; her In-Laws, Betty & Mike Neri of Broadalbin and nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and several siblings.

Her family has pre-planned all arrangements with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street in St. Johnsville, NY. Funeral Directors Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea (518) 568-2300. A memorial service will be held at 12 PM (NOON) on Friday October 28, 2016 at Enea Family Funeral Home on Center Street in St. Johnsville with Pastor Martin Glynn officiating. Calling hours will be held from 11 until noon, prior to the memorial service. We will then proceed to Ephratah Rural Cemetery for interment in the family plot.

The family is grateful for the care offered by the nurses and staff of the St. Johnsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the American Lung Association or to Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
