Carmen Hawks 68 a resident of the Lexington Center 218 Keyser Lake Road Dolgeville, died unexpectedly Wednesday August 27, 2014 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.



Carmen was born in Harlem, New York on October 24, 1945 the son of the late Benjamin and Carmen (Burnell) Hawks. He has been a resident at Lexington since 1992.



Carmen was a member and volunteer at the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church on Spencer Street Dolgeville for many years. He was always involved in fund raising programs for the church including the "Bike Safety Program", the "Adopt a Child Program at Christmas Time", along with assisting at Boy Scout meetings. His cheerful personality and wits always kept the staff at Lexington on their toes.



He is survived by his friends and family at the Keyser Lake facility.



Services and calling hours will be held on Tuesday September 2nd, 2014 starting at 11AM at the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church 32 Spencer Street Dolgeville. A service will begin at Noon at the church. Burial will follow in the Dolgeville Cemetery.
