Obituary
Carl Nolly, 94 a long time Fort Plain resident, passed away on December 23, 2007 at the Folts Home in Herkimer.

He was born August 23, 1913 in Rotterdam, NY the son of the late Joseph & Fausta (Peters) Nolly. Carl was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, class of 1932.

His marriage to Helen Wagner took place on July 24, 1937.

Mr. Nolly was a World War II Army veteran, enlisting on April 6, 1943 and was honorably discharged on December 25, 1945 with the rank of Technician Fourth Grade.

Carl was last employed at Beech-Nut Foods in Canajoharie.

He was a member of St. James? Church in Fort Plain, and was a Charter and life member of the Fort Plain VFW and a member of the Fort Plain American Legion. Carl was also a member of the Cherry Valley and Ilion Fish and Game Club. In his younger years, Carl loved the game of baseball and belonged to a local baseball team. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed his many fishing trips to Canada with his St. Johnsville friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Helen of Fort Plain, two sons, Richard Nolly and wife Constance of Fort Plain, and Robert Nolly and wife Diera of Germantown, Tenn., four grandchildren, Paul Nolly of Fort Plain, Shelby (Nolly) Payne and husband Rob of Hixson, Tenn., Kirby Nolly and Kendall Nolly of Germantown, Tenn., a sister-in-law, Virginia Nolly of Fort Plain, and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday December 28, 2007, at 10:00 am from St. James? Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Spring interment will be in Fort Plain Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY on Thursday December 27, 2007 from 5-8 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to Mid ? County Ambulance Corps. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
