Bruce W. Cigale

Bruce Walter Cigale, 79, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, following a brief illness.

Born on November 12, 1946, in Little Falls, New York, Bruce was the son of Edward and Charlotte Cigale. He proudly served in the United States Army, an experience that helped shape the values he carried throughout his life. Family and friends will fondly remember one of his favorite sayings, “Take all you want, but eat all you take,” a lesson rooted in respect, gratitude, and personal responsibility that became a staple at family gatherings and meals.

Bruce shared a remarkable love story with his wife, Lynne. Together they built a life centered on family, laughter, and lasting memories. In 2003, they moved to Delray Beach, Florida, where they enjoyed many happy years together until Lynne’s passing in 2021.

Bruce was a lifelong New York Yankees and New York Giants fan whose loyalty to his teams never wavered. Although he followed them closely, family members knew that the stress of a close game often made him too nervous to watch, preferring instead to check in on the score until the outcome was decided. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races and PGA Tour events, always finding something to cheer for. In his younger years, Bruce enjoyed fly fishing and spending time outdoors, and he continued to enjoy fishing whenever the opportunity arose later in life.

Bruce especially loved bringing his family together around food, and the family's weekly Sunday dinners became one of his most cherished traditions. Whether he was preparing a favorite recipe himself, helping in the kitchen, or simply enjoying the company gathered around the table, Bruce looked forward to the time spent with those he loved most. Sunday dinner was more than a meal; it was an opportunity for family to reconnect, share stories, celebrate milestones, and create lasting memories. To Bruce, food and family went hand in hand, and some of his family's most treasured moments were made around those Sunday gatherings.

Above all else, Bruce was a devoted father and grandfather whose greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his son, Matt (Jennifer) Cigale of Boca Raton, Florida; his daughter, Erin (Rich) Grandy of Boynton Beach, Florida; and his son-in-law, Jonathan Madden of Boynton Beach, Florida. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Nate Madden; Ollie and Gavin Cigale; and Kate, Natalie, and Will Grandy, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Bruce was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Lauren Madden, and less than two weeks later by the love of his life, Lynne (Brundjar) Cigale. The losses he endured in 2021 were profound, but he faced them with strength and resilience, drawing comfort from the family he cherished and the grandchildren who brought him so much joy in his later years. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Cigale, in 2014.

Those who knew Bruce will remember his unwavering love for family, his sense of humor, his loyalty, and the countless memories created around sporting events, family gatherings, and home-cooked meals. His steady presence, wisdom, and generosity touched the lives of many and will continue to live on through the family he loved so deeply.

Bruce will be profoundly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew him.
