UTICA – Brian D. Miles, 77, passed away after a short illness, on June 24, 2023.
He was born in Jefferson City, Mo. to Melvin and Hazel (Hardy) Miles. His parents relocated to the Utica area when he was young and he attended local schools, graduating from UFA and MVCC with a degree in Commercial Art. Brian worked at Bossert Manufacturing until they closed, Lawrence Brown Mail and Shipping, before becoming self-employed as a security courier and in office cleaning.
Brian loved to collect items from furniture, antiques, to novelties. He also was proficient in painting and jewelry making until he was no longer able to work in those arts.
On September 30, 1978, he married Charmiann Lotoski, a marriage that lasted over 44 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry; his brother-in-law, Nicholas (Donna) Lotoski, of Whitesboro; three nieces, Kimberly (Ted) Gwara and Nicole (Rich) Alfano, of NJ and Kelly Lotoski, of Whitesboro; and a nephew, Jamie Lotoski, of Utica. Also surviving are 3 great-nephews, Ethan Gwara, Zachery and Evan Alfano; 2 great-nieces, Savannah and Alexis Lotoski; as well as an aunt and several cousins and 3 special friends, Anna and Nathan Simons, and Andre Zachencyz.
Brian was predeceased by two brothers-in-law, David and Gary Lotoski; and a nephew, Jason Lotoski.
Per his wishes, there are no calling hours and a Graveside service is to be held at a later date.
Those wishing, may make a donation to his wife to help with the medical bills and final expenses, which were professionally arranged through the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, Frankfort.
The family wishes to thank all the staff on the 1st floor at Oneida Center for their kindness and care for Brian during his time there.
