Brian F. Laporte

HERKIMER – Brian Francis LaPorte, 58, formerly of Herkimer and currently residing in Rome , NY passed away on July 26, 2018 in Syracuse , NY .

He was born on September 25, 1959 in Herkimer , NY , a son of the late Edmund A. and Marise D. (Wilcox) LaPorte. He graduated from Herkimer High School . He enlisted into active United States Army military service in 1977 and was honorably discharged in 1980. Brian drove for ARC for a while and worked independently as a contractor doing carpentry work. He was also window washer on city skyscrapers in New York and Miami . Brian loved animals and children alike. He held a very special place in his heart for his beloved kitty cat, Taz.

Survivors include his siblings, Debra Morgan and husband, Dennis, of Orlando , Florida , and Don Hadcock, of Utica ; a daughter, Gail Marie Menius; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Ann LaPorte.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday July 31, 2018 from 10 until 11 AM at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street in Herkimer. Brian’s funeral will commence at 11 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer , NY . Full military honors will be accorded by the United States Army.
