Betty J. Smith

Herkimer-Mohawk – Betty J. Smith, age 83, formerly of Sherwood Acres, Herkimer, and Mohawk, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Folts Home, Herkimer.

She was born on July 24, 1935, in Mohawk, the daughter of William and Katherine (Moshier) Hunt and graduated from Mohawk High School .  Betty was married to Aubrey Smith, who died on April 27, 1998.

Surviving family members include her son, Kevin Smith and his girlfriend, Lori Collins, of Abingdon, Va; her sister, Jean Mang and her husband, Bob; her brothers, Russell Hunt and his wife, Mary Ann and William Hunt and his wife, Barb; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband; her son, Dennis Smith, in 2012; and several brothers and sisters.

Spring burial will be in Mohawk Cemetery next to her husband, Aubrey.
