Mr. Bernard E. "Bernie" Miller, age 88, a lifelong Little Falls resident passed away on Wednesday afternoon, May 28, 2003 in Little Falls Hospital. Mr. Miller was born on August 11, 1914 in Little Falls a son of the late Frank and Mary (Reardon) Miller. He was attended Little Falls Public Schools and St. Mary's Academy. Bernie proudly served his country as a United States Marine in World War II and was stationed the South Pacific Theater. He enlisted on January 20, 1942 and was honorably discharged on September 21, 1945, holding the rank of Corporal. His last employment was with the Little Falls Police Department where he served the residents in the City of Little Falls. Bernie was a life member of the Staff Sgt. Steve Stefula Post #4612 and a life member of the Little Falls Elks Lodge #42. He leaves two brothers John S. Miller of Little Falls and Charles J. Miller of Schenectady, a sister, Dorothy Malone of Little Falls, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Three brothers preceded Bernie in death, Frank, Bob, and James Miller as well as three sisters, Eileen Miller, Elizabeth Miller and Mary Bowman. The family will be present in the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls to receive relatives and friends on Saturday morning, May 31, 2003 from 9- 11 am. Bernie's funeral will commence at 11 am on Saturday morning from the chapel of the funeral home. In respecting Mr. Miller's wishes cremation will follow under the direction of the Enea Funeral Home. The Little Falls Police Department will form an honor guard at the funeral home on Saturday morning. Members of the Little Falls VFW Post # 4612 will gather in a body at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 8:45 am to conduct their service. Members of the Little Falls Elks Lodge #42 will gather at the funeral home at 9 am on Saturday to conduct their service.
