Bernard A. "Bernie" Hazzard Jr., age 74, of Route 80 in Fort Plain, NY, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
Bernie was born on September 28, 1951, in Amsterdam, NY. The son of Bernard Sr. and Ruth Hazzard (Green). Bernie married his loving wife, Pamela J. Hoose on October 31, 2011. He spent over thirty years employed with White Mop Wringer Corp, some time working at K.C Canary and retired from Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown where he worked in maintenance.
Bernie enjoyed hunting; fishing, bowling and anything that had a motor. He was a member of the South Minden Fire Department and the American Legion Post 31, in Little Falls, NY. He loved people and sharing his life stories with them. Bernie also played in many local country bands such as the Whiskey River Band, Ernie Kane and the Ramblers.
Bernie is survived by his wife Pamela Hazzard, his children; Bernard G. Hazzard, Jason A. Hazzard and his wife Stephanie, Brian Hazzard, Michael Hazzard, his stepdaughter, Carrie Jones and his sister, Sandy Scutt. He also leaves ten grandchildren; Alixander, Adrienne, Cassi, Bethany, Madison, Dereck, Aaron, Asia, Anna, Bernard G. Jr., as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in passing by his father Bernard Hazzard Sr. in 1979 and his mother Ruth Hazzard in 2018.
Bernie was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by many family members as well as those who he was grateful to consider a friend.

In honor of his wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. Bernies family will hold a celebration of life to honor him, at a date and time to be announced. The family will accept memorial donations at the time of his celebration of life.
