FORT PLAIN – Mr. Barry R. Gallt, of River Road, Fort Plain, a longtime resident of the St. Johnsville area, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, NY as a result of health complications.

He was born on November 1, 1950 in Little Falls, a son of the late Charles and Leta (Johnson) Gallt. He was educated in St. Johnsville schools. He was employed with Union Tools of Frankfort, NY as a forger.

He is survived by his children, Holly Warner of Herkimer, Jason Gallt and his wife Jessica of Little Falls and Clayton Gallt and his wife Johanny of Fort Plain, his grandchildren, Brandon Filippi, Jason Gallt, Jr., Nicholas Warner, Clayton Gallt, Jr., Sara Warner, Collon Gallt and Jade Gallt, his brothers and sisters, Charles Gallt and his wife Alice, Joan Nagele and her husband Fred, Caroline Hulbert and her husband Lawrence, Gail Polidori and her husband Joe, and Wayne Gallt and his wife Sue, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his sister, Janet “Dewey” Mureness, and a brother Lester Gallt.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street in St. Johnsville, NY with the Reverend David Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Freysbush Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, prior to the funeral service from Noon until 2PM at the funeral home.
