Barbara J. Slack

Barbara J. Slack, the daughter of the late Joyce and Robert (Bob) Spellicy, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 13th, 2025, at her home in West Winfield, New York.

A lifelong resident since 1955, Barb was born on September 1st, 1955, in Ilion, New York as mentioned to Robert and Joyce Spellicy. Barb was united in marriage to Ronald Slack on November 6th, 1982. Together they shared the birth of their daughter Shannon Slack on December 13th, 1983. Ron passed away on November 4th, 2016. She spent the last 2 years of her life with not only her best friend but companion Leona Smith and her 2 sons Franklin Smith and Zachary Smith.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Shannon Slack, and her companion Albert Smith, her sister Valerie Strife and her brother-in-law Jeffrey Strife. As well as her grandchildren Mariyah Mason, Jordan Mason, Emily Mason, Preston Slack and Blake Slack, her niece Mandy Phillips-Gallina and 2 nephews Todd Phillips and Spencer Strife, and her four best friends Sean Covey, Alyssa Filmer, Lisa Johnston, and Steve Morrock.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours in honor of Barb at The Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road in Ilion, New York on Friday, August 15th, 2025, from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM.
