Mrs. Arlene J. (Cool) Radley, 77, a lifelong Dolgeville/Salisbury resident, passed away on Monday morning, April 4, 2005. She was born on February 8, 1928, in Salisbury, a daughter of the late Earl and Bessie (Everson) Cool and received her education in Salisbury schools. Her marriage to Glen Radley took place on September 1, 1946 in Startford, a blessed union of 41 years until his passing on March 30, 1988. Arlene's last professional employment was with the Daniel Green Factory where she was a shoemaker, retiring after several years of dedicated service. Survivors include two beloved children: Donna Ploss and husband Gerry of Dolgeville and Bruce Radley also of Dolgeville, a sister Nora Cool of Stratford, nine cherished grandchildren: Chad and wife Julie Ploss, Kimberly and William Willis, Heidi Luther and husband Hal, Jeromy Ploss, Renee and fiance David Vogt, Monica and Steve Morse, B.J. Radley, Brett and Brian Radley; four adored great grandchildren: Ethan and Logan Ploss and Hanna and Ella Morse; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a sister in law: Alice Matis of Dolgeville. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Sharon Solomon and by three sisters and by five brothers. Arlene's philosophy included the steadfast belief that her greatest happiness had its source in being with her family and providing for their happiness and well-being. She was sensitive to the needs of her children and grandchildren and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. In her spare time she enjoyed word finding puzzles. The family invites relatives and friends to visitation at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 (today) from 5-8 p.m. Mrs. Radley's funeral will commence at 11 am on Wednesday, April 6 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest with her husband Glen this spring in Stratford Cemetery. For a ride to the services please call the funeral home at 429-3144.
