ILION - Antoinette Hyer, 84, passed away Friday, April 25th, 2025, at her home in Ilion, NY.
She was born on September 19, 1940, in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Palumbo) Talarico and graduated from Herkimer High School. Antoinette was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Hyer, to whom she was married on August 31st, 1963, in St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer. Richard passed away on March 19th, 2013.
Antoinette, along with her husband, owned and operated Antiques and Such which was located on Bleeker Street in Utica. She had a long and successful career with Oneida County as a social worker, including a time as acting Commissioner of Social Services. Antoinette loved to read books and followed politics passionately. Her greatest pleasure came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Antoinette is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Hyer and her husband Raymond Savarese II; her son, Robert Hyer of Rome and his wife Noel Hyer; her grandchildren, Robert Hyer, Patricia Parris and her husband Jacob Parris, Richard Savarese, Raymond Savarese III and fiancée Bree Ross, and April Savarese; her great-granddaughter, Sage Parris; several cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many special friends and extended family.
Antoinette's funeral will be held 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 1st, 2025, in the chapel of the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, Town of Frankfort, with the Deacon Jim Bower, officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at calling hours on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, from 3 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
