Anthony Francis Viti

December 18, 1955 — August 31, 2025

Frankfort

Anthony “Tony” Francis Viti, age 69, of Frankfort, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, August 31, 2025, with his loving family by his side.

Born on December 18, 1955, in Utica, NY, he was the son of the late Frank Sr. and Nancy (Stucchi) Viti. His childhood years were spent in Utica before relocating to Frankfort, where he would go on to graduate with the Frankfort-Schuyler Class of 1975.

On May 15, 1977, Anthony was wed to the former Patricia A. Lee in St. Mary’s Church in Frankfort and together they spent over forty-eight years in a loving and devoted marriage. He was the consummate provider for his wife, children and eventually, grandchildren; nothing giving him greater joy than his family.

Anthony, himself, grew up in a large and loving family of twelve children. For nearly fifty years, he was dedicated to his family’s business, the Friendly Bake Shop, which was founded by his father in 1961. Working alongside his brothers, Joe and Rick, Anthony worked tirelessly, perfecting his craft and serving families across the Mohawk Valley, with warmth, kindness and care.

He cherished the friendships and connections made over decades of early mornings and hard work. In 2013, Anthony and his brothers were paid a visit by Buddy Valastro and featured in the premier episode of ‘Buddy’s Bakery Rescue’, a truly unforgettable experience for the entire Viti family.

Anthony will be remembered for his generosity, humor and love for life. He was known for his quick wit, endless dad jokes and of course, his steadfast support for the Buffalo Bills. He was a man who always put others first and lived each day with humility and gratitude. Even as his health declined in recent years, he maintained a positive and happy-go-lucky attitude.

Anthony relied on his Catholic faith through the trying times. Most recently, he enjoyed watching weekly Mass with Fr. Dave Swantek. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace and at rest in Heaven, with those who have gone before.

He leaves behind his loving wife of forty-eight years, Patti; his beloved children, Jennifer Viti of Frankfort, Anthony and Jessica Viti of Orchard Park and Sandra and Rene Riviere of Utica; he was a proud “Papa” to his grandchildren, Isabella, Duncan, Anthony, Mariella, Marcella and his “Buddy” Dominic. His grandchildren were truly his greatest joy and he lit up whenever he was with them.

He also leaves his siblings, Frances and James Vitale, Nancy Lombardo, Sylvia and Gene Yelle, Linda and Anthony Valente, Barbara Viti, Joanne “Nina” and Richard Palumbo, Frank “Buddy” and Genie Viti, Joseph and Annmarie Viti and Richard and Kim Viti; his in-laws, Sharon Knapp, Dawn Kealy and Shirley Lee; along with many, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Frank Rodio, Agnes and Martin Ciaccia and Leo Lombardo; and his in-laws, Pearl Lee and Joseph LaBuzzetta, Jack and Molly Rehm, Ron and Marion Rehm, Earl Lee and Frank Kealy.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the incredible staff at Bassett Healthcare, who provided exceptional care and ensured Anthony’s comfort throughout his journey, with special mention of Drs. Canary, Raymond & Monzon and their staff & the compassionate care provided in his final hours by the Nurses Arthur & Richard.
