ILION - Anne P. Tallman, age 95, of W. Rand Street, Ilion, passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2014, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford.
Anne was born May 26, 1918, in Herkimer, the daughter of Katherine and John Zguris. On May 16, 1936, Anne married Donald Tallman in Little Falls. She retired from General Electric after many years as a faithful employee. Anne's passion was ceramics, and she taught classes to numerous people for over 20 years. Recently, she was a member of the Red Hat Society, and loved spending time with her friends playing cards. She was also an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Herkimer.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald, Sr., and more recently, her son, Donald, Jr., as well as two brothers, John and Martin. She is survived by two granddaughters, Denise and Carmen Salvatore, of Whitesboro, NY, and Lorraine and Mike Matheny, of Landenberg, PA; and three great-grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler and Sara.
Calling hours will be on Friday, April 11, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Applegate-Day & Enea Funeral Home, 102 West Street, Ilion, NY. Service will be held immediately following visitation. Interment will be held at the discretion of the family at a later date. Condolences may be left with the funeral home.
