ILION - Mrs. Anne L. Clive, 75, of Herkimer and a longtime Ilion resident, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Wynn Hospital, after a brief illness, with her loving family always by her side.
She was born on July 26, 1949, in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Robert and Jean (Martin) Paestella. Anne was a graduate of Ilion Schools and earned her associates degree to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.
On January 17, 1970, Anne was united in marriage to Robert E. Clive, Jr., affectionately known as “Dobber,” at Annunciation Church in Ilion. Anne was devoted to her family and last worked in her profession at St. Luke’s Hospital Emergency Room Department. She was an avid reader, cake decorator, and often found herself enjoying knitting.
Survivors include her loving husband and best friend of 55 years, Dobber; a daughter, Andrea Holmes and her husband Kevin, three grandchildren, Alexis, Melinda, and Samantha, three great-grandchildren, her brother, Michael Paestella, several nieces and nephews, and In-Laws, Dolores Geloso, Diane Rathbun and her husband Skip, Ray Egland and his wife Debbie, Ron Clive, and Mark Morris and his wife Melissa.
Anne was recently predeceased by her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Paestella, and her brother-in-law, Salvatore J. Geloso “Sam.”
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at The Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, in Ilion, New York. Calling hours that day will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM and will conclude with a Catholic Prayer Service. Spring interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer, New York.
Fellow nurses, of the Mohawk Valley Nurses Honor Guard will pay homage to Anne, with the Florence Nightingale Tribute, at 5:50 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home, honoring Anne's nursing service.
It is the wish of the family that memorial contributions in loving memory of Anne be considered to either the Herkimer County Humane Society or to the Ilion Ambulance. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home for these purposes.
