LITTLE FALLS - Anna May Kazmierski, age 104, a beloved figure of our family and community, left our world, on October 30, 2024, after a life richly lived right to its end. Last week she laughed heartily, as was her way and the next week she passed peacefully in her sleep. We thank all of her friends and relatives and neighbors for being so helpful and caring throughout the years. She was born on October 5, 1920, in Little Falls, NY, a daughter to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Pakan) Kane and was a graduate of Little Falls High School, Class of 1938.
Anna will be remembered as a long-time business owner of two women’s apparel shops, the Towne Shoppe and subsequently the Boston Store, both in Little Falls. She fondly remembered and talked often of her loyal customers. She will be remembered as a 100-year member of the St. Paul’s Universalist Church, serving as Deaconess, Superintendent of Sunday School, Chair of the Board of Trustees and President of the Unitarian Universalist Women Society and hostess of many of our church social functions held at her home.
She was proud of being a recipient of the WCA Woman of Distinction Award in the Religion category. She was a lifelong citizen of Little Falls and loved being in the community.
Anna was pre-deceased by her husband, Stanley, in 2001; her parents; and her sister, Mary Riemann. She leaves a daughter, Kathryn Carrig; a son, Allen and his wife, Geri; her grandchildren, Bart Carrig, Kellan Carrig and wife, Christa, Brendan Carrig and wife, Grace, Dana Iorizzo and her husband, Luciano, Ander Kazmerski and his wife, Casey; and numerous great-grandchildren.
