FRANKFORT – Mrs. Ann Marie “Cookie” Lebert, age 81, a lifelong Frankfort resident, passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, September 2, 2024, at Wynn Hospital in Utica, with her devoted sons at her side.
Born on June 23, 1943, Ann Marie was the daughter of the late Joseph T. “Buck” and Rose S. (Sarmie) Valent. She was raised and educated in Frankfort, graduating with the FS Class of 1961.
On July 4, 1977, Cookie was blessed to wed Paul E. “Butch” Lebert in St. Mary’s Church in Frankfort, and together they spent over forty years in a loving and devoted marriage. Paul passed away on June 9, 2019, and a piece of Cookie’s heart went with him that day. Their sons take comfort in knowing the two are now reunited in heaven.
Throughout the years, Cookie’s entrepreneurial spirit was evident through her various business ventures. She owned and operated MiLady's Beauty Salon in Frankfort, as well as the Skate-O-Rama skating rink and Good Stuff boutique; all endeavors for which she was well-known in her community.
Cookie’s passion for the casino was another trait she was well-known for and she thoroughly enjoyed playing Bingo and trying her luck at the slots. In recent years, she looked forward to her weekly casino night with friend and neighbor Darlene Abbatecola; the two shared many laughs together.
She also held close to her heart the ‘Alpha Girls Crew’ which was a group of friends she kept since high school: Rosemary (Cushman) Malorzo, Joann DiCamillo, Carol (Tocco) LoVullo, and Margaret (Castellano) Sebregandio. The memorable moments are just too numerous to count.
Cookie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Lauri Valent of Frankfort, Paul and Kassandra Lebert of Mohawk and Joseph and Erica Lebert of Ilion; her grandchildren, Craig “CJ” Lebert, Olivia Valent, Ellie Lebert, Axl Lebert and Joey Lebert; her brother and sister-in-law, Hank and Phyllis Valent of Frankfort; nephew, JJ Valent; niece, Shannon Partenza; along with other nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Paul; brother, Peter Valent; and sister-in-law, Joanie Farrar.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours for Cookie on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 4:30PM – 6:30PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000.
