FORT PLAIN - Mr. Andrew C. Greenslete, age 91, a longtime resident of Main Street in Fort Plain, NY and owner of the former Nelsons Laundry & Dry Cleaning of Fort Plain, passed away on Saturday February 14th, 2015.
He was born July 18, 1923, in Gloversville, NY, a son of the late Nelson and Myrtle (Murdock) Greenslete. He attended and graduated from Gloversville schools. He was a World War II Veteran, having served our country with the United States Army and was stationed in France. His marriage to the former Mildred Westerman took place July 4th, 1949. The couple shared in 56 loving years of marriage together, and were the owners and operators of Nelsons Laundry and Dry Cleaning of Fort Plain. He was a member of the Fort Plain Methodist Church. He loved to travel with his wife to many locations throughout the country. Mrs. Greenslete passed away on April 6th, 2006.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Greenslete and his wife MaryAnn of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Paul Greenslete and his wife Judy of St. Johnsville, three grandchildren, Alissa, Michael, and Leeann, and three great grandchildren, Braden, Brooke, and Christofer.
His funeral arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street in St. Johnsville, NY. Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors (518) 568-2300. In keeping with Andrew's wishes funeral services will be private in the spring at Fort Plain Cemetery and held at the convenience of the family.
