Alfred J. Moreau, Sr., 88, of Boonville and formerly of Ilion, passed away peacefully, March 15, 2013 in the Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville, where he had been residing.
He was born on October 7, 1924 in Ilion, the son of the late Azarias and Valerie Pellerin Moreau and attended Ilion High School. Al served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II until his honorable discharge on December 21, 1945.
For many years, He worked in construction for various companies throughout the Mohawk Valley. Al was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his son, Timothy Moreau of Rome; his daughters and son-in-law, Amy Moreau of Forestport, Carol Moreau of Houston, TX, Barbara Moreau of Utica and Kim and Wayne Bush of Mt. Vernon, NY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Al was predeceased by his siblings, Edward, Joseph, Emil, Russell, Charles, John, Francis, Hank and Rose.
Al's funeral will commence from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 with Deacon James Bower, officiating. Interment will be made in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Contributions, in Al's memory, may be offer to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
