HERKIMER – Mr. Albert J. Rotondi, 97, a lifelong resident of Herkimer, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, at Valley Health Services.
He was born in Herkimer, New York, on October 28, 1924, a son of the late Lorenzo and Concetta (Pugliese) Rotondi. He was a World War II veteran and retired in 1987 from New York Central Railroad, Penn Central then Conrail, after 33 years of service. His wife, Ida Sue (Thompson) passed away in 2002 after 54 years of marriage. He was also predeceased by two children, Tony and Connie.
He is survived by his children: Rick and Donna Rotondi, Sheila and Mike Trent, Nancye Rotondi, Michael Rotondi, James Rotondi and Jason Rotindi and Lisa Knoblauch. He also has several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at the Enea Family Funeral Home, in Herkimer, NY, on 220 North Washington Street. There will be a showing, calling hour that morning, from 10 until 11AM. Spring interment with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.
