ILION - Sharon M. Rogers, age 71, of Colonial Manor in Ilion, passed away, at St. Luke’s Hospital, April 25, 2023, peacefully to the arms of our loving Lord and Savior, with her family by her side.
She was born February 27, 1952, in Ilion, NY and was the daughter of the late Victoria (Boyer) Becker and Edward “John” Becker. She attended Mohawk schools. She married the late Gary Rogers on March 14, 1981 and spent most of her life as a homemaker caring for her family. Gary passed away on June 18, 2012.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, Tammy Young, of Franklinton, Louisiana; her son, Gene (Tricia) Rogers, of Ilion: her grandchildren, Samantha (Samantha) Cardone, Sierra (Skeat) Roman, Andrew Liebing, Alechia Taylor, Christopher (Kelli) Pizani, Kaitlynn Rogers, Justin Young, Traci Rogers and Dawn Rogers. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Dakota, Shelby Jr., Phoenix, Nova, Derek, and Marlo; and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of two more great-grandsons, Carter and Callum, next month. Sharon also leaves behind her special companion of 14 years, her dog, Gizzy.
Sharon is also survived by her siblings: Edward Becker, Nancy (Jim) Cotton, Edward (Julia) Brewer, Rick Brewer, George Becker, Jonathon Becker and Ellie Becker Newberry (Jackie Haddad). She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Sharon was predeceased by her siblings: Earline Howard, Donna Brewer, Barbara Irizarry, Edwin Becker and John Becker. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Shane Young.
A special thank you to her daughter-in-law, Tricia and her granddaughter, Traci, for all of the care they provided her.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 12 Noon, at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, in Ilion, NY. A calling hour will be held prior, from 11:00 a.m., until the Funeral Services, at 12 Noon. Family and friends are invited to all as well as the burial to follow in Frankfort Center Cemetery.
All service arrangements for Sharon have been entrusted to Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors.
