LITTLE FALLS – On Friday, June 27th, 2025, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, Lucille D. Shepardson, died peacefully with her son and caregiver, Walter R. Shepardson, Jr., by her side.
Lucille was born on October 16th, 1937, in Little Falls, New York, to Stella E. and John O. Dempster. Lucille began her working career as a secretary for her Uncle Karl J. Kopp at his insurance agency. After marrying she was a full-time mother until reentering the work force with Salada Tea. Lucille then worked at the Herkimer County Trust Company for 32 years before retiring and working part time for Rose Law. Lucille was a volunteer for Zonta, Rape Crisis Hotline, Hospital Guild, Red Cross Blood Drives, and the WCA along with being a voting monitor for many years.
Lucille liked to walk around Little Falls. She loved seeing pictures of sunrises, sunsets, rainbows, and the moon. She enjoyed dining out and visiting local craft breweries with Walt. She loved spending time with her extended family. Lucille spent time at Keyser Lake and Cape Cod with her sister Joyce. Lucille always put family first and unselfishly took care of friends and family alike. She always asked about her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she wouldn’t miss a chance to ask you if you needed anything.
Lucille is survived by her family; Walter R. Shepardson, Jr. (Donna), Robert J. Shepardson (Sandy), Kenneth G Shepardson (Christine), Kathleen S. Welden (Herbert), and daughter-in-law, Stacie Shepardson.
Lucille was pre-deceased by her son, Jeffrey M. Shepardson, her brother John Dempster, her sister Joyce and her brother-in-law Arthur Hogan.
Lucille was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, Stormee Shepardson, Lindsay Barton (Cody), Sharayah Shepardson, Toria Lynch (Justin), Alexander Shepardson (Meghan), Jade Shepardson, Rachael Capsey (Colin), Alexis Shepardson, Acacia McCollum (Zyon), Aidan Shepardson, Cody Welden (Nichole), Austin Welden, Ethan Welden, Michael Shepardson (Kari), and Alexandra Palmer (Alex). Her Great-Grandchildren include: Izaick Kerr, Milena Shepardson, Havyn Shepardson, Blake Sprague, Kamryn Sprague, Brent Barton, Jacob Shepardson, Luca Shepardson, Ellis Capsey, Rylan Shepardson, Jemma Lynch, and Brailey Lynch.
Per Lucille’s wishes, Private Services will be held at the family’s convenience. Her arrangements have been made under the care of The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls, New York.
