Mrs. Laura L. Morse, 70, of Little Falls, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown, New York with family by her side.
Laura was born on September 13, 1953, at New York Hospital in Manhattan to parents, Gerald and Charlotte (Riexinger) Gallucci. She married her loving husband, Emery C. Morse, on March 2, 1981. Together they owned dairy farms in Roxbury and Little Falls. Most importantly, she devoted her life to raising her children and caring for persons with developmental disabilities through OPWDD’s Family Care program for nearly 30 years. Mrs. Morse retired in 2019.
Laura was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Through the years, her main residence was the rectory of the former Saint Joseph’s Church on Albany Street in Little Falls. It was not uncommon for people to knock at the door seeking help. Laura was never one to turn away anyone in need.
The one thing she loved almost as much as her family was Christmas. She was known for her Christmas tree which was a true work of art. She loved hosting big family Christmas Eve dinners. Any and all were welcome at her table. One of her favorite things was being surrounded by family and other loved ones.
She is survived by her mother, Charlotte Gallucci; sister, Christine Costanza; children Linda and Jessica Hawley, Lauren and Michael Earl, Emerson and Samantha Morse; seven grandchildren, Lennox and Lena Hawley, Geraldine and Andrew Long, Wolfe and Charlotte Earl and Madison Morse; nieces Charlane Constanza and Mindi and Joseph Schilling; great-nieces and nephew Ella, Kayla and Joseph; and Terry Talbot whom she loved as a son.
She was predeceased by her husband, Emery, on September 30, 2020 and her son Thomas Cashman on June 8, 2019.
The family would like to thank the medical staff, especially Nurse Cora, at Bassett Medical Center, for the exceptional care of Laura during her final days.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Funeral Mass, in honor of both Laura and Emery, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 11:00AM at Holy Family Parish Church, corner of John & East Main Street, Little Falls, NY.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Herkimer Humane Society. She had a love for pets, especially her faithful companion, Mo, whom brought her comfort during her final years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at
