FRANKFORT - George A. Burch, 83, of Frankfort, NY went to Heaven, on Feb. 2, 2024.
He grew up in Rome, NY and was educated locally. George entered the US Marine Corps on his 17th birthday. He served from 1957 until 1959. He was a graduate of SUNY Oswego with his Bachelor's Degree in Education and spent his teaching career with the Utica City School District.
George was a fun loving jokester, who loved to make everyone laugh. He was a self taught guitar player who loved to strum to Johnny Cash. George also loved to venture out to Estate Sales and Thrift Shops as he enjoyed antique collecting. George also loved to go metal detecting and exploring for old coins. George was a huge NY Yankees Fan and would never miss a game.
He was very proud of perfecting his Chicken Riggies and loved the compliments that he received when serving his delicious meal. In George's younger years he was an avid hunter but vowed never to hurt an animal as he loved wild life. He loved to feed peanuts to the squirrels and crows.
Sadly, he leaves behind his loving children: Rebecque and Luis Colon, Brenna Kosicki and Michael Graham, Keith and Cheryl Burch and Kevin Burch; his grandchildren, Brian Burch Colon, Luis Colon, Jesse Colon, Brandon Kosicki, Juliette Kosicki and Keith Burch Jr.; his grandson-in-law, Erik Colon; and his two great- grandchildren, Giovani Colon and Lucas Colon. He also leaves Jacqulyn Burch who cared for him during his final hours of comfort care.
He was preceded by his loving granddaughter, Vanessa Colon; his grandson, Vincent Kosicki; as well as his infant son, Bryan Burch.
George's family is planning a spring burial, privately for the family.
