FRANKFORT: Kevin J. Smith, 41, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.
Kevin was born in Rome, NY on August 4, 1971, the son of Roger and Joan (Lane) Smith. He was a graduate of Utica Senior Academy and attended Riverside Aviation School. On January 31, 2004 he was married to Kristi Burton.
Kevin was employed by Bonide Products in Oriskany and at one time worked for Chicago Pneumatic. He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, playing pool and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife Kristi of Frankfort; his parents, Roger and Joan Smith of Marcy; his son, Joshua Smith and fiance´e Tamrin Giruzzi of Utica; his stepsons, Justin Prentice of Frankfort and Richard Prentice, Jr. and fiance´e Kayla Jodway of Mohawk; his granddaughter, Alayna Rae Prentice; his mother-in-law, Linda R. Burton and her companion Donald Burton of Ilion; his sister-in-law, Linda S. Burton and her fiance´e Scott Davis and his wife's grandmother, Sarah Howard. He also leaves his aunts and uncles, Pat and Larry Brothers, Carol Baker and her companion Bob Gigliotti, Carl Lane and his companion Donna Baldomir; his nephew, Ashton Davis; a niece, Shelby Lynn Davis; many cousins; a special friend, Paul Ciola and his canine and feline friends, Molly and Max.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Marie and Albert Rotach and Edward and Ann Smith.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Frankfort Center Fire Department and Kunkel Ambulance for the care and kindness they showed to Kevin during his illness.
Cremation has taken place. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., (Town of Frankfort) Ilion, NY (315)894-8000.
In lieu of flowers, kindly consider memorial offerings to the American Heart Association or Bone Marrow Transplant Program, c/o Mike Ellis, 601 Elmwood Ave., Box 650, Rochester, NY 14642; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
