Mrs. Josephine Cimino, age 90, of 403 Palmer St., Frankfort, passed away on Monday afternoon, June 14, 2004 in Stonehedge Nursing Home, Rome. She was surrounded by her beloved family at the time of her passing. She was born on January 1, 1914 in Bronx, NY a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Datena) Visingardi and graduated from Frankfort High School with the "Class of 1933". She was joined in marriage with James Cimino on July 6, 1940 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort, a blessed and loving union of 62 years until his passing on March 11, 2003. Mrs. Cimino and her husband owned and operated the Palmer St. Market in Frankfort for 45 years of loyal and dedicated service, gaining the respect of many in the community of Frankfort. A devout Catholic, she was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort. She belonged to the Church Auxiliary, Altar Rosary Society and was a Eucharistic Minister. Her faith was very important to her, always attending mass. She is survived by two sons, James Cimino and wife Susan of Little Falls, Joseph Cimino and wife Claudia of Rome, a daughter Carol Sargent and husband Merritt of Delmar, one brother, George Visingardi of Maryland, seven cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Cimino, Sarah Stone and husband Jeff, Matt and David, Sargent Jessica Salazar, Matthew and Alexis Glover, and one adored great-grandson, Evan Michael Stone. She was predeceased by one brother, James Visingardi and a sister in law, Anne Visingardi. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 17, 2004 from 4-8 p.m. in the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main St. between Frankfort and Ilion, (894-8000). Mrs. Cimino's funeral will commence at 11:15 am on Friday morning, June 18, from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home where prayer will be offered, thence to Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort St., Frankfort where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer where she will be laid to rest. Contributions in Mrs. Cimino's memory may be made to the following Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church Funds: Monthly Missal Sponsor, Altar Host and Wine, Religious Education, Sanctuary Candle, Memorial Fund and the Chapel Fund. The family would like to offer their thanks for the wonderful care given to Josephine during her stay at the Stonehedge Nursing Home in Rome. A special thank you to her friend Lee Decelles for her care and concern. A person gifted with a warm heart, Josephine possessed a deep and abiding love for her family.
