HERKIMER – Edward P. Bowman, age 68, a lifelong resident of Herkimer, passed away, on Saturday evening, July 29, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica.

He was born on November 30, 1954, in Herkimer, a son of the late Maynard and Ann (McCarthy) Bowman. He was educated at Herkimer schools. His marriage to Alba F. Donato took place on May 6, 1979, in Herkimer. Ed was employed with Hale Manufacturing for over 35 years until his retirement in 2017. He then spent many years enjoying life with his wife Alba by his side and he cherished time spent making memories with his daughter and precious granddaughters.

Ed was an avid sports fan, especially watching the New York Mets and the New York Jets. He enjoyed collectibles, especially baseball cards. He was often found sitting on the porch, smoking a cigar and on Thursday evenings, on his personal barstool, at Stoney’s Tavern spending time with many friends playing tunes on the jukebox and Quick Draw.

He is survived by his wife, Alba; his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Michael Maida; his grandchildren, Eliza and Camila; his brother, Maynard Bowman; brothers and sisters-in-law; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and special friends.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours for Ed at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, in Herkimer, on Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Prayer Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
